Episode 2: Three makes a happy crowd : )

“Hey! Please wait for me!” They stopped in their tracks and turned around, just in time to see her fall with a thud!

“Gosh! Are you alright?” Jing Yi asked with concern as she helped the poor girl up.

“Don’t worry. I am fine!” She flashed a big smile. Turning to Wan Ting, she asked, “You don’t remember me?”

“You are the new comer… ” A flash of recognition crossed her face. “Tan Ah Tong!”

“It’s Tan Si Ting! People no longer call me Ah Tong okay? And… that’s so embarrassing, especially in front of my new classmate here!”

“No worries. It’s an interesting nickname you have!” Jing Yi commented. “How do you know each other?”

“Oh, that. How about talking over lunch?” Wan Ting suggested.

“Okay!” Si Ting and Jing Yi chorused. They looked at each other and laughed at the chemistry between them.

It turned out that Wan Ting and Si Ting have been friends from way back. They went to the same primary school, attended the same tuition classes and living near each other, they played together. However, as they are promoted to the secondary school, they lost contact and here, they met again. It was all but a pleasant surprise.

As Jing Yi took in the conversation, she couldn’t help but feel being left out until…

….We're all in this together
Once we know
That we are
We're all stars
And we see that

We're all in this together
And it shows
When we stand
Hand in hand
Make our dreams come true...

Si Ting’s mobile phone rang.

“It’s a message,” Si Ting exclaimed.

“OMG. YOU WATCHED HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL TOO?” Jing Yi let out a shriek of excitement.

“Yes! Sort of. Did you?”

“Of course! Because it features…”

“ZAC EFRON!” They said in union.

As Wan Ting looked at the two girls with dreamy looks, she shook her head. Unfortunately, Jing Yi saw that.

“He’s freaking HOT okay! Go watch HSM lahhh” Jing Yi told Wan Ting and went back to her favourite discussion with Si Ting.

“It’s my time to feel bored,” Wan Ting shrugged with a laugh. This time round, the girls were too engrossed in the conversation.

Three is a crowd, they said. And it cannot be avoided that at times, one may feel left out. But don’t we all do? Yet, we can choose to be a listener and share the feelings, thoughts and experience with a laugh. We said “Three make a happy crowd.”

“Excuse me, can I sit here?” asked a gentle-speaking girl who was struggling to hold a laptop and a tray of food.

“Yes, of course.” Wan Ting gestured to the empty seat. “You look familiar. Are you from our class? TB 11?”

“That’s right. You are Wan Ting right?” She replied politely.

“You are good at remembering names! I am afraid I am a lousy one at that. You are…?”

TO BE CONTINUED.
STAY TUNED.
